It’s nice to meet you.

I’m Brooke, an Oregon-based physical therapist and medical intuitive who specializes in treating chronic pain and illness through the use of energetic, visceral, and neural therapies. I am fascinated by the interaction of the physical, emotional, and spiritual bodies to create our physical experience. My time working with individuals with complex pain, chronic illness, and trauma has taught me the about the importance of addressing all three layers for optimal health. I believe that pain, disease and dysfunction are powerful teachers to support us each in our unique growth as humans on Earth.

  • “Viscera” refers to the organs of the body. Visceral mobilization is a technique of evaluating and treating various organ dysfunction, and can be done both manually or energetically.

In a more qualitative sense, to feel something “viscerally” means to connect with that inner-gut knowing. It’s a sense of deep experience, and represents a level of information that can often be hard to put into words.

Here at The Visceral PT, we honor this information from the organ system to provide unique and individualized treatment in the setting of chronic pain, disease, or dysfunction of the body.

  • All through youth and adulthood, I’ve experienced the frustrating impact my mental health has had on my physical ability to perform in various sports. In fact, I started my undergraduate degree exploring sports psychology.

While psychology was compelling, it didn’t connect the mind to movement in the ways I needed. I didn’t know much about physical therapy at the time, but it felt like the direction I was meant to go.

Over my early introduction to PT, I was fortunate enough to be exposed to alternative forms of body work which opened my mind to the level of connection that is possible when working with the body. As I trained in these modalities, my intuitive and psychic gifts slowly began emerging.

It took a lot of courage to step outside the traditional expectations of the medical field, but the level of healing I’ve witnessed within my patients has made the entire process worth it .

  • I have developed a deep respect for all forms of physical suffering, from sports injuries to chronic fatigue syndrome to small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. Physical dysfunction, as debilitating as it can be, is almost always the body forcing us to slow down and listen.

The body will show us where we have been ignoring parts of ourselves. If we continue to ignore these signals, they will only manifest in greater ways until we pay attention. The power of this is that when we can tune inward and listen, we open up possibilities for self-discovery and healing that were not previously accessible.

My purpose in this lifetime is to help others reconnect to their truth, using the wisdom of the body to facilitate.
